Toddler Starved At Home After Father, 59, Died In New York Apartment, Officials Say

Authorities reported Tuesday that a 2-year-old boy starved to death after his father passed away at their home in upstate New York this year.

In their apartment in Geneva, which is located about 45 miles southeast of Rochester and 55 miles southwest of Syracuse, David Conde Sr., 59, and David Conde Jr., 2, were discovered dead on February 15.

According to a statement from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department, the father passed away naturally from “cardiovascular illness”.

According to the sheriff’s office, the toddler died of malnutrition, and the cause of death was determined to be unintentional.

The statement concluded, “It is assumed that Mr Conde died first, and the infant was unable to take any food after his father passed dead.”

Investigators have stated that there were no indications of forced entry or criminal activity inside the apartment where the couple was last seen alive on January 22.
