Mexican Man Killed In Shooting At US Border Patrol Station

The second deadly shooting along the U.S.-Mexico border in less than a week resulted in the death of a Mexican national at a U.S. Border Patrol station in Texas.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said in a statement that the guy was shot while being held at the Ysleta Border Patrol Station in El Paso on Tuesday. The FBI reported that he was transferred to a hospital and later declared deceased.

The Border Patrol confirmed that some of its agents took part in the shooting, but no information about what happened before it was disclosed.
The individual who died was a Mexican citizen who was being processed at the station when criminal accusations against him were revealed, according to the Mexican Consulate in El Paso. The investigation into the shooting is being handled by the FBI.

Days prior to the shooting, two migrants were shot and one of them died while attempting to gather water in rural Hudspeth County, which is 90 miles (145 kilometres) east of El Paso. In one case, two Texas brothers were detained and charged with manslaughter, including one who had served as a warden at an immigrant detention facility.

Both the deceased man and the injured woman in Hudspeth County were from Mexico, the consulate announced on Tuesday.
