Missing Infant Found Alive After Authorities Arrest Woman Accused Of Kidnapping Twin Babies

Authorities said a missing infant was discovered alive in Indianapolis on Thursday, hours after the arrest of a woman accused of stealing a car with the boy and his twin brother inside in Ohio.

Kason Thomass, a 5-month-old boy, was discovered Thursday near a Papa John’s restaurant in Indianapolis, according to a statement released Thursday night by the Columbus Division of Police.

Nalah Jackson, 24, was arrested earlier Thursday on an Indianapolis street, according to Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant.

Kason was in the 2010 Honda Accord that Jackson allegedly stole outside a pizzeria in Columbus’ Short North Arts District around 9:45 p.m. on Monday, according to the police department. The boy was fine and was being taken to the hospital for an examination.
The FBI had offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the boy’s safe return.

Jackson, who was charged with two counts of kidnapping, was apprehended in Indianapolis after people who had heard about the missing children spotted her, according to Bryant.

Her ties to the city were not immediately apparent. Previously, Byrant described her as homeless and from Columbus.

Kyair was discovered abandoned near Dayton International Airport after an Amber alert was issued on Tuesday. His condition was unclear at the time.

When the boys’ mother went inside to pick up a Door Dash order, Jackson allegedly stole the Honda Accord from outside Donatos Pizza. Authorities previously stated that she left the children inside the car while it was still running.

According to Columbus Police Deputy Chief Smith Weir, there is no evidence that Jackson knew the family.

It was unclear whether Jackson has hired a lawyer to represent her.
