Body Believed To Be California Woman Missing For 2 Months Found At Crash Site

Officials announced Tuesday that a body thought to belong to a California woman who was reported missing two months ago was discovered in a wrecked car that presumably plunged off a cliff.

Jolissa Fuentes, 22, was reported missing on August 8 after she failed to get home and was unreachable, according to authorities.

Rudy Alcaraz, the police chief of Selma, California, remarked at a press conference, “We wish that we had better news. I wish that we could have brought Ms Fuentes home.”

In a gully close to Pine Flat Lake on Monday, rescuers discovered Fuentes’ car wreckage, a body, and the woman’s possessions, according to authorities.
In a gully close to Pine Flat Lake on Monday, rescuers discovered Fuentes’ car wreckage, a body, and the woman’s possessions, according to authorities.

According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, search and rescue team members had to descend down to reach tire tracks that travelled through vegetation and off a cliff.

Alcaraz claimed that it was a one-car collision. According to officials, no wrongdoing is suspected.

The identity of the remains must be verified by the coroner’s office.
Margaret Mims, the sheriff for Fresno County, said: “There’s no question that we’ve located her.

Pine Flat Lake’s vicinity had been examined, but according to Alcaraz, the area has “a great amount of topography” with dense vegetation and rocks. According to him, search teams had to descend one cliff after rappelling more than 200 feet down it.

According to the sheriff’s office, Alcaraz discovered the automobile wreckage and tire tracks along Trimmer Springs Road on Monday, which helped detectives and search crews locate the car below.

“At the news conference on Tuesday, Joe Fuentes, the father of Fuentes, stated, “He promised me he was going to find my daughter.
He said, “He’s my hero.”
Alcaraz claimed that he visited the location because he had new eyes, and that “I just got lucky.” The position is near a road bend.

Fuentes was well-known for enjoying the Pine Flat Lake region, and Alcaraz speculated that she may have been out for a drive at the time of the collision.
California Highway Patrol is looking into it.
