Bed Bath & Beyond CFO’s Death Is Said To Be A Suicide

Bed Bath & Beyond executive Gustavo Arnal’s deadly jump from his swanky Tribeca high-rise apartment was officially ruled a suicide by the city’s medical expert on Monday.

Arnal, CFO of the organization before he lost his life, jumped off the 18th story of the luxurious “Jenga Building” Friday afternoon because the retail company dealt with monetary issues.

He faced accusations linked to a $1.2 billion “pump-and-dump” stock fraud lawsuit filed last month.

The office stated that Gustavo Arnal, aged 52, died from “multiple” blunt pressure trauma.

The suicide happened days after the struggling retailer announced closing shops and laying off workers.

On Friday at 12:30 p.m. ET (1630 GMT), police replied to a 911 call and discovered a 52-yr-old man lifeless close to the building who suffered injuries from a fall. Police recognized the person as Arnal.

Bed Bath & Beyond confirmed his death in a press declaration on Sunday however gave no details.

Arnal joined Bed Bath & Beyond in 2020. He formerly worked as CFO for cosmetics logo Avon in London and had a 20-year stint with Procter & Gamble Co (PG.N)
